Watching the Convention  
the question is, do I was MSNBC, or go for the laughs with FOX? of course, there is always THE DAILY SHOW and THE COLBERT REPORT.

DECISION, DECISIONS, DECISIONS

So far, Morning Joe has been a fun chatty program, talking to Dan Rather (HDNet) about 1968 - the videotape shocked me - I remember watching the convention, and the news - the riots were in color, they convention black and white - odd... then the parade continued the the fake Democrat Harold Ford, who could never get a "meetup" together when he was running for Senate.

And, it continues.

Then this thought struck me: Does the music the Conventions choose clue us in about their focus? More to come on this idea

The Twitter programs review!!  
So, I guess I am now a Social Media Maven. I twitter, plurk, have myspace and facebook, (though facebook is superior), and now I am going to POWNCE. like I need another microblogging client. it will go along with the multiple blogs I have.... I learned the hard way on that.

Twitter - I Like it - the mini-dramas and flame wars are fun to observe. I use both twhirl and twitterific. although, the ads in twitterific are a bit annoying, I tried out twitterpod is interesting, but could be seizure inducing, and is a mac only program

Plurk... nice interface - needs some getting used to howver, since entries are on a timeline (horizon?)

Karl Rove flees and the News Media sleeps  
why has this major turn of events being ignored by our News Media? Karl Rove skipping a date with Congress is one thing.

"Rep. Chris Cannon (R-Utah) defended Rove, saying that he did have immunity from testifying and that the Democratic insistence on holding the hearing was a “partisan stunt.”

Cannon said Rove was out of the country on a “long-planned trip.”
But leaving the country? and just where did Mr. Rove go on his "long-planned trip"? why, according to NotionsCapitol he's vacationing in the Crimea. and where is the Crimea? Why in the Ukraine. And, just what is so special about the Ukraine that it drew Mr. Rove to the shores of the Crimea River? Their lack of an Extradition Treaty with the United States. I would say that the Traitor Rove has admitted his Treasonous Acts by fleeing.

The Naked Cowboy is a boor  
I'm watching Cristina's Court and a NYC "personality"known as "The Naked Cowboy" is currently being sued on this show for becoming obsessed with himself. He's using a 24/7 webcam thinking he's going to be a "reality star"... he's a jackass. He also apparently failed to discuss the idea with the mother of children.... he is delusional.

When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

Dear Sen. McCain,

Your call for Sen. Obama to "cut Gen. Clark loose" is pure hypocrisy, when your campaign staff is littered with Lobbyists and Swift Boaters - the same people you denounced when they were trashing Sen. Kerry's war record. The same people who trashed a disabled Iraq War Veteran when she ran for office. YOU have them on your staff. SHAME ON YOU. SHAME ON YOU FOR TURNING YOUR BACKS ON YOUR FELLOW VETS. FOR 30+ YEARS YOU HAVE TURNED YOUR BACK ON THEM.

Senator, you can't have it both ways. Your fitness as our potential Commander-in-Chief is important, and your service record figures into that fitness. Your false outrage does not commend you.

On Tuesday, June 3, 2008, the President signed into law:

H.R. 2356, which encourages the display of the flag of the United States on Father's Day;

To what purpose? To conflate Fatherhood with Patriotism? is that like the Women in WWII Germany who became Breeders for the Fatherland???

Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2002 (Enrolled as Agreed to or Passed by Both House and Senate) In perusing this Bil, I can find no mention of Father's Day and the Flag... oh... it's a DIFFERENT H.R.2356.....

Now, there is another test of "Patriotism"... Flying the Flag on a made up holiday. Can't wait for the size of the flag to be deisignated

If elected president, Senator John McCain would reserve the right to run his own warrantless wiretapping program against Americans, based on the theory that the president's wartime powers trump federal criminal statutes and court oversight, according to a statement released by his campaign Monday.


Do we really want more of the same? Does he make you feel all warm and gooey inside. This is not the John McCain I met back in 2004 as when I was a Greeter for the City of NY during the Republican National Convention. I don't recognize this man. I seriously don't, and that is what worries me. Sen. McCain survived the Hanoi Hilton, but did he survive the Relgious Right of his Party? is he suffering from the trauma of having his career and life thrashed by the very groups he now kowtows to? I fear so. and, the John McCain who stood up to bush in 2000 has been disappeared.d.
